The e-Governance Academy (eGA) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, founded for the creation and transfer of knowledge concerning e-governance, e-democracy and the development of civil society. eGA is engaged in research, training, research, consultancy and knowledge dissemination on e-governance related topics.

This portal aims to help public officials, consultants, and others in developing/transitional economies seeking information and assistance with e-government initiatives. The project has focused sequentially on specific e-government topics: avoiding failure of e-government; using ICTs for government transparency and public sector health information systems. Content on the site draws largely from the "eGovernment for Development Information Exchange": a network of many hundreds of e-government practitioners. It includes case studies and best practice guidelines.

National Institute for Smart Government (NISG), Hyderabad is a not-for-profit company incorporated in 2002 with NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies), and Central and State governments are the principal promoters.
