The next two years are poised to become a significant milestone in the development of wireless communications. The availability of new spectrum for wireless deployment due to the shutdown of analog television will lead to greater accessibility and interoperability than exists at present. Consumers can therefore look forward to a more rich set of hardware and software capabilities, and the wireless landscape will be reshaped considerably as a result of more open standards and collaboration.
