In real terms, the implementation of Right to Information(RTI) in India poses a huge challenge to the government; the new law covers all central, state, local and panchayat government agencies, with the exception of those in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. These authorities need to work swiftly to satisfy the key provisions of the Act and be ready to process applications from the public as soon as possible.
