Global: IBM helps blind 'see' web video

IBM is set to launch a multimedia browser which makes audio and video content accessible to the visually challenged. The application which was developed by a visually challenged employee will give visually challenged and partially-sighted people the same control over multimedia content that sighted people have using a mouse . While IBM says that this is not part of their corporate social responsibility and will develop this as a business proposition,they maintain that it will be open source which will allow it to be accessible to the largest number of people. The browser will be available later this year and should be free.
