This is a comparative study which analyses the extent to which existing policies related to the development and application of science and technology (S&T) are supportive to the commitments of gender equality and justice for sustainable development. It further identifies strategic actions necessary to ensure the integration of gender perspectives in policies related to the development and application of S&T for sustainable development. The countries covered in the analyses are People’s Republic of China, Indonesia, India, Republic of Korea, the Philippines and Vietnam. The study serves as baseline information on the achievements in addressing gender issues in policies related to the development and application of science and technology for sustainable development, and looks at the legal and policy frameworks, and government mandates on gender, science and technology, as well as government machineries on gender, science and technology (Adapted from authors).
