This report commissioned by the World Bank gives a description of telecentre activities from all around the world. Particular focus is placed on telecentres and telekiosks in the rural areas of Pakistan, and the key players involved in these interventions. The report surveys those corporate entities with the highest chance of success in the telecentre entreprise, and the key resources available for making them operational. Templates are also provided for telecentre business plans in Pakistan. The report concludes by highlighting the necessity of rural broadband policies to precede urban availability, and the inclusion of civil society, political and other stake holders in the decision-making process.
